Anil Kapoor has been ruling the world of Hindi films for more than four decades, considering Sonije to be the greatest 'warrior'. After 'Animal', he is also irresistible in 'Fighter'. Prothom Alo's Mumbai representative met the 67-year-old actor recently at a five-star hotel in Mumbai

Movie career is 45 years! The topic of his long career came up at the beginning of the conversation with Anil Kapoor. The actor said, 'Even today the audience is enjoying my performance. They love me. Directors, producers are giving me work opportunities. And for all these things I have to become a "warrior" every day.' When asked who is the greatest 'warrior' he has ever seen, he replied with a smile, 'I consider myself the greatest warrior. I won the biggest battle by getting married. Then father, now grandfather, I won one battle after another. A new “fight” started after Siddharth Anand (Director) told me the story of “Fighter”. Because I have to look like a 42-year-old man on screen. So I don't see anyone else as a great warrior apart from myself (laughter).'

According to Anil Kapoor, every film brings new challenges to him. He said, 'Even today, any film, character, scene throws new challenges at me. I still get anxious before stepping on set. Always try to give my best.

I always feel the urge to prove myself as a better actor than before.' After spending so long in the industry, Anil still enjoys his work equally. He said, 'I have chosen a profession that I love. I still get excited to go on set every day. Still working hard, I think it couldn't be better. I can travel to different places for this profession. I met with different types of people.

Even after the release of "Animal" many people are addressing him as "Balveer Singh". Acting was like a job to me in my youth. I used to act in small roles then. Couldn't get work like that in Hindi, so started working in south. Then gradually I started getting work here (Bollywood).'

He thinks that many other characters like 'Munna', 'Lakshman' made Anil a star. In his words, 'I got so much love from everyone because the characters I played became popular. I got known due to working with stars like Dilip Kumar, Naseeruddin Shah, Padmini Kolhapuri.

If they didn't work with me then nobody would know me today. I got the opportunity to work with the top local actresses of that time. I just wanted to be an actor. There was no plan to become a star. Today it has become with the love of people and the blessings of God. How many talented, handsome boys from me become actors. But God gave me this good fortune. I consider myself lucky to have made the transition from actor to star.
