Deepshikha Nagpal Reveals Why She Declined Shah Rukh's "Karan Arjun" and Salman Khan's "Jaanam Samjha Karo": 'I Thought If I Say No...'

Deepshikha Nagpal, known for her roles in films like Baadshah and Partner, recently shared some interesting insights into her past decisions in the film industry. In a recent interview with YouTuber Siddharth Kannan, she revealed that she once turned down significant roles in popular movies such as Karan Arjun, Jaanam Samjha Karo, and Laadla.

Deepshikha explained that during the 1990s, she didn't have a mentor or godfather in the film industry, which led her to make impulsive decisions that might have negatively impacted her career. Recollecting an encounter with director Rakesh Roshan, she shared that he had offered her the role opposite Salman Khan in Karan Arjun, a part that eventually went to Mamta Kulkarni. Reflecting on her decision, she admitted, "The first day I met Rakesh Roshan, he offered me Karan Arjun. I immediately said no. I thought if I say no, he will cast my sister but now I understand that he wanted a petite girl. It was for Mamta Kulkarni’s role. He said okay and he never asked me why."

Later, Rakesh Roshan did cast her in a negative role in his film Koyla, featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit.

Deepshikha also shared an encounter with her idol, Anil Kapoor, who offered her a song in Laadla. However, she turned it down, hoping for the chance to star in a film alongside him. She recalled, "Anil Kapoor came to me and offered me a song in Laadla. He said you look like Parveen Babi. That song was ‘Ladki hai kya re baba.’ I heard him and I said no. I said I want to do a film with you."

In another missed opportunity, while working with Shah Rukh Khan in Baadshah, she was offered a significant role in Salman Khan's Jaanam Samjha Karo but impulsively rejected it. Deepshikha expressed regret over her hasty decisions, acknowledging that she should have thought more carefully before turning down these movie offers.

Her story serves as a reminder that sometimes, in the fast-paced world of showbiz, taking a moment to consider opportunities might make a significant difference in one's career.
